Rückseite: IMP T VESP AVG - REST // PROVIDENT [NT ligiert]. Altar samt Einfassung mit geschlossenen Türflügeln. Beiderseits S - C. Kommentar: Dieses Gepräge ist eine Restitutionsmünze und datiert in die flavische Zeit, in der beginnend mit der Herrschaft des Titus frühere Münztypen (hier RIC I² Nr. 81 des Tiberius) nachgeprägt und anhand der Titulatur und des Zusatzes RESTITVIT gekennzeichnet werden. - Der auf der Rückseite abgebildete Altar wurde vor Oktober 19 n. Chr. von Tiberius gestiftet, um der Voraussicht des Augustus zu gedenken. Augustus hatte um den 26. Juni 4 n. Chr. seinen Stiefsohn Tiberius adoptiert und damit zu seinem Nachfolger gemacht. Das Datum der Adoption aber war dann auch ein Tag, an dem Feierlichkeiten zu Ehren der Providentia des Augustus stattfanden. Literatur: H.
