| Description |
English: Tintagel: Trebarwith Farm waterwheel Cleared of undergrowth in the 1990s, the 25 diameter waterwheel is being reclaimed by nature in 2009. A ring gear on the inner shroud plates engaged with a pinion mounted on the wall above and via drive shafts powered machinery in barns at Trebarwith Farm 200 yards or more away. The waterwheel was fed by a small pond and the limited water supply probably only allowed a couple of hours running time, before the pond ran dry. The area round Tintagel is watermill country many of the farms had water power, in addition to the grain mills and mines |
