Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Attempt to improve on below quoted sketch by using approximate distances in between relevant waypoints as provided by Ranger Ellis. Each circle's radius shows a distance from WPs, either B or D.
Letters indicate...
a - Floatplane moored
b - best access to the camp
c - place where bear 141 was killed
d - Amie's remains
e - sleeping tent
f - "gear" tent
g - place where young bear was killed
h - Tim's remains
Note that Ellis' rough sketch, made for the Park Service on 2003-10-20, was based on data gained in the evening of 2003-10-06 in quite a hurry, after having seen the nightmare and having killed two bears. Ellis notes "Not to scale" and gives approximate distances in between relevant waypoints. Any directions, including the sketch itself, might differ from "North-up" up to 20°.
Lower frame:
1 - Floatplane moored
2 - best access to the camp
3 - Amie's remains
4 - sleeping tent
5 - "gear" tent
