Bruce Grove, Tottenham. 22 March 2008, 4:57pm. A resident phoned to tell me about this pile. "Alan, you joke that Haringey is a 'three-bag Borough'. So how about going for the prestigious three mattress award?" She hadn't spotted the <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/53921762@N00/2352423431/">fourth mattress and bed-base.</a> The sign on the lamppost said: "Timed Rubbish Collections. Every morning 9am to 10 am. Evenings 10pm to Midnight". A pretty good service. Designed to keep the main roads clear of domestic and trade waste during most shopping hours. But Tottenham has a very high turnover of residents.
