| Description |
English: Tilbury Ness. This is a view of Tilbury Docks at Tilbury Ness taken from Northfleet in Kent. Construction of Tilbury Docks was begun in 1882 and opened for business in 1886. Following a massive investment the docks moved to containerisation in the late 1960s. The port currently covers an area of 325 hectares all of which is within a freeport area meaning no import duty or VAT is paid until goods leave the dock.
