| Description |
Mount Tibidabo sits on a line of hills just inland of Barcelona, Spain. On the hilltop there is a large church - the Sagrat Cor - and close by it, a funfair. Both provide superb views over the city with the Mediterranean sea beyond. The mountaintop neo-Gothic church took 60 years to build and today many visit it's interior and climb to the foot of the statue for outstanding views. Access to the mountaintop started in 1901 and the amusement park grew in size and content. There are a surprising number of attractions there considering the limited space available and for information see here: <a href="https://www.tibidabo.cat/en/the-park/amusement" rel="noreferrer nofollow">www.tibidabo.cat/en/the-park/amusement</a> My photo was taken shortly before the attractions opened for the day. These places of interest can be accessed directly from the suburbs of the city by car, bus, tram and funicular railway. Like many places in early 2021 it is off-limits due to Covid, but when normality returns it will be well worth a visit. |
