Three views of a stone axe.
Description
English: In plan the axe is an elongated trapezoidal shape. In cross section it is bi-trapezoidal towards the blade. The butt is a sub-oval shape in section. The butt was broken in antiquity.
The axe is made from a blue fine grained stone made up of volcanic ash. Ordovician. Found in Wales and the Lake District. (Jon Radley, Warwickshire Museum).

The blade has been re-sharpened.

The surface has been polished.
