Title
Three lis British coin weight
Description
English: British Coin weight; dating to circa 1690, for the French pistole and its half. The reverse of the weight depicts (from top to bottom) three Fleur de lis, a half mark, the word PISTOL and a capital 'W'. There is a circle of pelleted dots around the perimeter of the coin. The obverse depicts a Roman-style bust, but it appears to be Louis 14th. The bust is facing right, with his hair combed over the back of his head allowing his long hair to drape over his ears. The legend reads LVD XIIII.DG....FR[E]?[N]?....
