English: CITY WITH GROWING PAINS—This is a long view of Thousand Oaks from the north toward the commercial center. In the span of eight years, the city has grown from a community of 14 square miles to 38 square miles and a population of more than 53,000 and is still expanding. Growth, however, is carefully scrutinized with stringent regulations governing construction, goals and requirements more on the sophisticated side.
