Description
English: Thorncliffe Footbridge The stone slab or clapper footbridge is the oldest type encountered in the UK. it is also the most durable, requiring very little maintenance. The weak points are usually the bankseats, but here the slab rests firmly on a small masonry training wall, which also supports the hillside. The footbridge and the beck are is shown on the 1:25,000 OS maps but not on the 1:50,000 Series
