  • Dansk: Læssøe opholdt sig (med afbrydelser) i Italien 1844-57 og igen 1866-68. Maleriet er sandsynligvis udført inden opførelsen af den store bro over dalen til Ariccia, Ponte di Ariccia, i årene 1847-54. Broen ses på en tegning af Lorenz Frølich fra 1851 (KKS1976-645) og Godfred Rumps maleri 'Udsigt over Ariccia og Campagnen' fra 1860 (KMS1829).
