Description
English: (Original Caption) 6/23/1948- Philadelphia, PA- Governor Thomas Dewey and Senator Ed Martin exude good cheer and friendship after the Pensylvania Solon announced his withdrawal as a condender for the Presidential Nomination in favor of the New York Governor. Martin's announcement was the first really dramatic break of the Republican National Committee and was regarded as an attempt to steamroll Dewey into the nominatoin on the first ballot.
