English: Thomas Charles' headstone in Llanycil Churchyard The Revd Thomas Charles was Vicar of Bala, and St.Beuno's Church Llanycil is the old Parish Church. He was the founder of the British and Foreign Bible Society, inspired by Mary Jones who walked 23 miles to Bala to obtain a Welsh Bible from him. The Church is redundant as a parish church, but is being turned into a Thomas Charles Memorial Exhibition by the Bible Society. |
