Physical Description: Portrait of a gentleman in hunting costume, identified as Sir Thomas Southwell (1595-1645) of Woodrising, Norfolk, holding a snaphance fowling piece, with his dog holding a duck at his feet. In a landscape, with a large house in the background. Coat of Arms un upper lh corner. Motto, lower rh: 'Hic et ubique'.

Dimensions: 72 in. by 40 in. Framed.

Notes: John Edward Southwell Russell became Lord de Clifford in 1980. An Edward Southwell, a descendant of a younger son of the Southwell family of Woodrising, inherited the title of Lord de Clifford through his mother, a daughter of Margaret, baroness de Clifford ? in 1775. Arms: Argent, three cinquefoils gules, are the arms of the Southwell family, not the de Clifford family.
