Description
English: Tractor cage wheel beside Lug Fen Droveway, near to Clayhithe, Cambridgeshire, Great Britain. Cage wheels like this were used to spread the load of tractors in the days before suitable pneumatic tyres became available.
Nederlands: Kooiwiel voor tractoren, liggend aan de Lug Fen-drift bij Clayhithe in het Engelse Cambridgeshire. Kooiwielen waren gewoonlijk een aanvulling; ze werden naast de luchtbanden gemonteerd en gaven de aangedreven wielen grip, maar verdeelden het gewicht van de tractor onvoldoende voor slappe kleigrond. Het zijn voorlopers van de latere dubbellucht.
