| Description |
English: This is the smaller version of the songthaew, this time in a Nissan pickup truck. We had ridden in one of these, in fact this very one, till this point. Note the local shops in the background. This is just outside the entrance to the Saiyok Noi falls near Kanchanaburi, Thailand. After a long halt here at the Saiyok oi falls, we will now ride this car back to Kanchanaburi, where our tour bus (a Toyota Hiace van actually) is waiting to take us back to Bangkok- a drive of around two hours, I am here in Kanchanaburi to check out the bridge on the river Kwai and to learn about the horrors related to construction of the Death Railway between Thailand and Burma. Saiyok Noi was the halt for the second half of the day. Detailed notes about all these, and also about songthaews, appeared earlier in this album. (see previous pictures).
