Summary

[edit]
Description A notice declaring this to be a plastic-free zone. No wonder the tea pickers use gunny sacks and wicker baskets. I did see a few HDPE sacks as well including one that one of the ladies was wearing, but those were very few. YOu can see the precariously steep and heavy slopes the tea pickers have to work on. I could now understand why many of them were carrying those long sticks- that would be their only means of support and stability. (Vagamon/ Munnar Tea Estates, Kerala, India, Apr. 2016)
