Summary

[edit]
Description Boiler-side view of the C56 type 160 steam locomotive in the Kyoto Railway Museum in Kyoto, Japan. All steamed up and ready to go, this engine reverses a little way and then runs forward. The distance is a little too less for the beast to really steam up and the ride is over is a distressingly short 10 minutes but something is better than nothing I guess! The sights, sounds and most of all the smell of steam traction takes the ride to an entirely new level. Detailed notes about the C56 type 160 locomotives appeared earlier in this album. (see previous pictures). (Kyoto, Japan, Apr/ May 2019)
