Summary

[edit]
Description

Women dressed in yellow sari carried ?mulaippari? (sprouts) on their heads and paid respects as part of the jayanthi to revered leader and activist Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar.

As well as these processions, the celebrations focused on the large Thevar statue a few km away at which I got to see the revelry and garlanding of the statue by various parties and groups.
