Description
English: No less than 111 photos from19 diplomatic missions, including the Indonesian Embassy in Bandar Seri Begawan, were displayed in a photo exhibition "Brunei in the Eyes of Foreign Diplomats and Families" at the Royal Equipment Museum of Diraja, Bandar Seri Begawan. The exhibition, inaugurated on 16 December 2020 and lasting through 26 December 2020, exhibits photos of Brunei Darussalam captured various angles by heads of missions, their staff members, and families.

The Ambassador of Oman, Sheikh Ahmed bin Hashil bin Rashid Al-Maskari, in his remarks as Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, expressed the hope that this exhibition could bring Brunei's relations closer to friendly countries by showcasing the beauty and uniqueness of Brunei as captured by the camera lenses of diplomats.

Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Masna attended as the Guest of Honour and then officially opened the exhibition on 16 December 2020 and accompanied by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz. The opening was also attended by the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II, Dr. Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew; the Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism, Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong, as well as the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Abidin.

The exhibition that lasts for ten days at the Regalia Museum also exhibits six photos from the Indonesian Embassy in Bandar Seri Begawan. Three photos were contributed by Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Brunei Darussalam, Dr. Sujatmiko, showcasing the beauty of the sunset at Empire Beach as well as the beauty of orchids and sunflowers at Rimba Garden Central, the garden centre in Brunei. Meanwhile, three photos contributed by members of the Indonesian Embassy staff displayed the landmark of Brunei, the Sultan Omar Ali Saefuddin Mosque; the Tasek Lama lake; and the proboscis monkey, a primate endemic to Borneo.

"Apart from capturing the beauty and uniqueness of Brunei, the photos on display also reveal a glimpse of the outlooks and lives of diplomats while serving in Brunei Darussalam," said Ambassador Sujatmiko.

The same exhibition will also be held at three other Brunei districts, namely Kuala Belait, Tutong and Temburong until early February 2021. After being exhibited around the four districts of Brunei, the photos will then be sold with the proceeds donated to a local charity.
