Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Two performers, one dressed a as flapper with short hair and a sheer attire, and the other in blackface makeup, a curly wig, black leotard, and a grass skirt, performing a comedic dance act on a revue stage in Oslo, sometime in the first half of the 1920s.
  • Photo taken at Theatre Moderne, a popular variety stage in operation from 1914 to 1925 at the former Kristiania Tivoli on Klingenberg in Oslo.
  • The painted backdrop shows an urban scene with buildings and satirical signs in Norwegian.
  • The picture is part of a series of photographs by the Norwegian photographer Narve Skarpmoen (1868–1930) taken at the same revue theater, copied from the Norwegian National Library's online image collection, where the image is tagged as public domain.
