Summary
[edit]DescriptionThe zebra-striped wall - geograph.org.uk - 956905.jpg |
English: The zebra-striped wall The glass in the roof having been recently renewed, the sun can now throw alternating diagonal patterns on the "Balmoral" north wall of Edinburgh's Waverley station during a quiet moment at Platforms 19 and 20. The station was enlarged during 2007 and Platform 20, on the left, was a new platform, also providing an additional through route the length of the station. The wall's nickname comes from it being largely common with the former North British Hotel, renamed the Balmoral by its new owners when it ceased to be part of the nationalised British Transport Hotels. |
