Roche hosted the gathering using the event to introduce the new chief to the Air STAFF. GEN Jumper praised his predecessor GEN Michael E. Ryan for the Air Force's high state of readiness, and he said to Dr. Roche, "I am proud to be a part of this team. We have before us today the greatest Air Force in the world." He added, "Down the road today's airmen are going to look...

US Air Force CHIEF of STAFF General (GEN) John P. Jumper asked of a group of Air STAFF officers and enlisted members gathered in the Pentagon auditorium on September 21, 2001. Secretary of the Air Force Dr. James G. Roche hosted the gathering using the event to introduce the new chief to the Air STAFF. GEN Jumper praised his predecessor GEN Michael E.
