Even the naturalised Britishsubjects offer the Royal visitors a most cordial andaffectionate welcome to Australia, and they do further-more most humbly hope that the purpose of the visitto Australia will be commemorative of a beneficialperiod in the history of the Commonwealth. Thoughdiffering widely in style and mode of expression, theaddresses are so similar in substance that the Duke is ableto make a collective reply to them all. After referringto the hearty welcome and the favoured climate andbeautiful scenery of the island, he declares himself privileged to voice feelings of profound satisfactionand admiration of the Mother Country f
