dult ^, Spring.—Median frontal stripe yellow, rest of upperparts shiningjet black without olive markings; tail blackish two outer feathers largely whiteon inner web apically, and on outer web, basally, third feather with whiteon inner web only, less in extent; wings edged with grayish the median covertsbroadly, the greater coverts more narrowly tipped- with white; cheeks andline over eye yellow; a blackish line through eye from bill to nape; throatand upper breast black; sides heavily streaked with; black, rest of underpartswhite. Adult c7. Fall.—Not seen, doubtless not materially different from adult J inSpring. Young c?. Fall.—Resembles adult 2 in Spring but is more heavily streakedabove, the yellow of the sides of the head is brighter and more extended, thethroat and upper breast are black tipped with yellow or whitish. Young <?, Spring.—Similar to young d in Fall but tips on black of throatand sides smaller or absent; upperparts with narrower greenish edgings. Plate XIV
