It shows all of the present buildings except the barn,the flower hot-house, two tenant houses, the Industrial Building and a handsome stone chapel nearing completion, and whichis the product of the love and efforts of The King s Daughters of North Carolina associates that will refuse to be for-gotten. It was a time of sacrifice,hardships, distress and the STAK-ING OF ALL that the propositionmight be made to go, that debtmight be avoided, that successmight be had and that an account ofa faithful stewardship could be ren-dered to the authorities. JANUARY 12th, 1909Is the date of the institutionsopening, and on that day its firstpupil arrived from the town of Bur-lington. The capacity was soon tax-ed. It has been a steady growthsince.
