| Description |
English: The tower, church of St Peter, Howden, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. The tower of Howden Minster dominates the town and the surrounding flat countryside, and can be seen from as far away as the Yorkshire Wolds. One might expect a west tower, but the building was originally cruciform with the tower over the central crossing. Now the tower is at the east end of the church following destruction in the late 17th century. |
