One culvert contains 60 ft. of20-in. iron pipe, and 10 ft. of stone work. There were also 1,950 ft. of state highway fence removed and14,400 ft. of wire fence built. Street Improvements. It was necessary to widen 36,157 ft. of streets and roads from 10to 20 ft.; to lay new 12,893 ft. of macadam, and to repair or rebuild1,770 ft. of macadam. In addition there were special items which included the building eastern terminal and 17 miles from New Bedford the western ter-minal.
