The cars are mounted on Peckham No. 14 A double trucks andequipped with four 50-h. p. motors made by the Lorain Steel Co. The companys principal buildings are located at Wolcott, whichis 13 miles from Leavenworth, and comprise the power house andcar barn, which are completed, and repair shops that are as yet un-finished. All of the structures arc of brick on stone foundations.The smoke stack, which is also of brick, is 14.5 ft. high.

STANDARD CAR, KANSAS CITY LEAVENWORTH ELECTRIC RAILWAY—AMERICAN CAR CO. The line consists of a single track, with 62-lb. steel T-rails, withrock ballast for the roadbed. The majority of the grades are lessthan 3 per cent, with two short stretches, one of 4 per cent and theother 5 per cent. There are two curves of 18°; all other curves are12° or less. The track joints were made by the American Rail JointCo. The company owns six combination coaches, with smokingcompartments; 4 combination express and passenger coaches; 15freight cars and one 3S-ton locomotive. The cars were built bythe American Car Co., of St. Louis, and the company will soonput on 20 more cars of the same type. The bodies are 31 ft. 8 in.long over the corner posts, the cars being 41 ft. over the bumpers.The width over the sill plates is 8 ft.
