EL MOTOR AT OMAHA. The Steel motor has been doing wonderful things atCouncil Bluffs, on the Omaha & Council Bluffs Railway& Bridge Companys line. On the occasion of a schoolpicnic held there June 27th, one of the Steel motor carsthat has been doing service on the bridge for some time satisfaction expressed at the recent announcement that acertain dummy line was to be transformed into anelectric road. The experience of Birmingham is that electric carsare cleaner and more comfortable than the dummycoaches; the time made is about the same, and so is theproportion of accidents. CONSOLIDATION IN PENNSYLVANIA. New companies are forming in Philadelphia and Pitts-burg to consolidate several lines of street railway in eachcity. The largest company will comprise the Peoples,Electric and Philadelphia Traction Companies, of Phila-delphia, in the Union Traction Company wiih $30,000,-000 capital.
