THE opening to traffic of the Niagara Falls Park &River Railway last June, marked a distinctadvance in electric railway practice and a newera for sightseers around Niagara Falls. The road is aCanadian enterprise and is built entirely on Canadiansoil, following closely the Niagara river for a distanceof II yi miles between Queenstown and Chippewa,affording a \iew of falls and river that can be obtained in the road, aside from the electrical features, is very similarto that of a steam road. It follows the edge of the bluffso closely that nowhere is it more than sixty feet fromthe edge. To do this it was necessary to go over gov-ernment land, and about $10,000 per annum is paid forthis privilege. A good idea of the scenery along the linecan be obtained from our engravings.
