This short street is known the world over as Newspaper Row andhereiwithin.hail.of.one another are published the Daily Tribune, Sun,Journal, World, Press, Times, News, Statts Zeitung and others. Thefirst tall building at the right is the St. Paul Building; the ne.xt onenorth is the Park Row Building, the highest business building inNew York. At the left- is the New York postoffice and in thedistance the approach to the Brooklyn Bridge. CORNING BRAKE SHOE. The Corning Brake Shoe Co., of Coming, N. Y., is representedby Mr. Jos. Turbell its president, who presides over an interestingexhibit in the annex. These shoes are extensively used on thestreet railways of New York, where they are giving excellent satis-faction. Tests of the Corning shoe made at Purdue University,La Fayette, Ind., show that the coefficient of friction of these shoesis such as to fill the requirements of street railway service.
