A BIRMINGHAM (ALA.) SUBURBAN TRAIN. thoroughly reliable and with the time saved in making quick stopsa much faster schedule can be maintained. The coal stoves formerly used in the cars have been supplantedby electric heaters made by the Consolidated Car Heating Co.,which arc found to be much cleaner and less expensive in thelong run than the stoves; all the cars on the system have beenprovided with this type of heater. An attractive little pamphlet is published each week under thename of the Birmingham Railway, Light & Power Co. Weekly inwhich items of interest in all three departments are briefly dis-cussed, the different places of amusements and the attractionsoffered, some witty little sayings, and reasons why people shouldprovide themselves with gas stoves, are embodied in the littleweekly and it is placed in small brackets in the cars for the orlification of the passengers.
