MOTOR FOR BROOKLYN ELEVATED. account of the fluctuating traffic in the morning and eveningon the Brooklyn lines the company has decided to use theSprague multiple unit system and the Walker 20 L motor. This type of motor has been designed and tested by Prof.S. H. Short, vice-president and engineer of the WalkerCompany. They were subjected to the severest tests inservice on the Lake Street Elevated Railroad in Chicago,and the Brooklyn motors will embody all the advanced ideasgained by those experiments. The cars equipped with twoof these motors will have a scheduled speed of 16 miles anhour, including stops. Tn appearance and in design the motors resemble gener-ators.
