The coal is received in hoppers located to take the coal as dumpedfrom cars on the railroad track, and from the receiving hoppers itIs delivered to the crushers. From the crusher the coal is receivedliy the cross conveyor, which passes over the lower linos of the twoKmgitudinal conveyors, and into either of which it can deliver. Thelongitudinal conveyors elevate the coal and deliver it to the bunkers. .\shes are taken from the pits under the boilers by the longitudinalconveyors and by them delivered to the upper line of the crossconveyor, which runs under the upper lines of the longitudinalsystems, the cross conveyor carrying ashes to the hopper over thecoal car track. TROSS SBTIllN — NEW IOWKR STATION OF TWIN CITY RAPID TRANSIT CO. Babcock & Wilcox Co. and are of the all-steel construction, de-signed for 200 lb. working pressure. Superheaters designed to super-heat the steam 120° F. above the temperature due its pressure atthe point of leaving the boiler are installed within the boiler set-tings. Each boiler has three 36-in, drums, 23 ft. 3 in. long, set over21 sections of 13 tubes, the tubes being 4 in. x 18 ft. The spaceoccupied by each battery is 23 ft. 5 in, x 31 ft. and 20 ft. 4 in. highto the flange of the steam opening. The boilers have 5,500 sq. ft,of water healing surface, the nominal rating being 550 h. p., butthey will furnish continuously 825 boiler horse power. All of theboilers are equipped with Roncy automatic stokers, installed byWestinghousc, Church.
