Power Situation in Kansas City.The principal and most expensive piece of work which formspart of the undertaking of Ford, Bacon & Davis, engineers, toreconstruct the Kansas City street railway system, is the new Mis-souri River Power Station, a plant of about 40,000 kw. ultimatecapacity. The present installation is to be 10,500 kw., of which aportion has been in operation since February 6th of this year. railway apparatus to care for the districts of which they form thecenters. The construction of these sub-stations is now in progress,and some are equipped and operating with either permanent appa-ratus or temporary expedients. There is also much temporaryauxiliary power generation and transmission carried on at the oldand new power, lighting and cable stations to care for the in-creasing electric load, but as the new station is nearing
