In Los Angeles there has been an order issued toconductors of the cable divison of the Consolidated Com-pany not to allow dogs on the cable cars unless 50 centsfare is paid tor each of the canines. Dogs have neverbeen allowed on the electric cars. The many peoplewho have been annoyed by dogs on the cars, from thewooly window washer, beribboned poodle and panopliedpug to the big yellow cur, will be glad of the move tokeep the dogs at home, where they belong. A SAFETY CLUTCH BRAKE. The Safety Clutch Brake Company, of 725 Sansomstreet, Philadelphia, makes the coupled clutch brake, ofnew design shown herewith. The brake is designed tobe placed on the front timber of the car platform. Thedevice is easily understood from the accompanying en-gravings. The scheme of action is as follows:
