E. 57motors and have a rated speed of 40 miles an hour, although thishas been considerably exceeded on occasion. Two 40-ft. passengercars with G. E. 1,000 motors on McGuire trucks, and one doubletruck parlor car and two 24-fl. single truck motor cars completethe passenger motor equipment. The freight locomotive is onMcGuire trucks and hauls 100 tons at a load. All the motor cars areequipped with Christensen air brakes and whistles. There are alsosix open trailers for excursion business in summer. Although itwas impossible to complete the line in time for much excursionbusiness the past summer, several were handled, one of 1,000 pas-sengers. The Mcaker portable fare register is used.

COMBINATION CAR FOR KEGULAR SERVICE. Co., side pole construction being used except through towns wherethe track is laid in the middle of the street. Trains are operatedon a telephone dispatching system from the main office which isat the power station in Walworth. The power .louse is a substantial brick structure 50 x 100 ft. witha fire wall separating the boiler and engine rooms. A battery oftwo boilers made by the Murray Iron Works supply two engines:one a 200-h. p. high speed Ball and the other a 300-h. p. ProvidenceGreene Corlics. The generators are 200 and 220-k. w. Westing-house, belt connected. At the swichboard 600 h. p. is easily in-dicated. The car house is a frame building adjoining, 50 x 125 ft.,with three tracks. It is connected with the station by a system of At the lake terminal four acres on the shore have been securedand large docks built from which all the public steamers on the lakesail.
