ring opens. lOi West Virginia. Parkersburg—Capt. W. H. McCosh has succeeded J. R. Fox asgeneral manager of the line here. Wisconsin. Janesville.—Charles D. Haines, of Kinderliook, N. Y., is going toproceed with the construction of the road at once, having purchased thenecessary material for an electric line. Racine.—The City Street Railway has filed a bond of $io,oco as aguarantee that it accepts the ordinance for an electric road. Milwaukee.—The Milwaukee & Wauwatosa Rapid Transit Linewill be operated as a part of the Villard system, and as soon as the lineis completed the Walnut street cars will run through it to the town ofWauwatosa. Charles F. Fink is the architect for a handsome new car house6i X 150 feet, which is being erected by the Milwaukee Street Railwayon National avenue and the corner of 22nd avenue. T. W. BuRRETT, who has been assistant superintendent of the BelleCity Street Railway Company during the past S years, has resigned andwill probably go to Indiana.

OVERHEAD ELECTRIC AT YONKERS, N. Y. THE formal transfer of the street railway companyhas been made to the new organization, which haselected the following officers: President, E. L.Hawks; vice-president, J. H. Barnard; secretary, B. F.OConnor; treasurer, J. G. White. Mr. Barnard alsoacts as general manager. A suitable location has alreadybeen purchased as a site for the power house, which willbe a two story brick structure 45x68 feet. The lowerstory devoted to engines and dynamos, and the secondstory will contain the offices of the company. Two hori-zontal boilers of loo-horse-power each, and two highspeed engines of lOO-horse-power each will be installed.
