The Park at Savin Rock, New Haven, Conn., containing about3/4 acres is lighted by about 500 electric incandescent lamps ar-ranged to give a canopy effect. The current for these lamps istaken from the trolley circuit, and as putting the lamps in seriesof five each would make too many wires overhead. I devised themultiple-series system here described, which will doubtless he ofinterest to others having similar work to carry out. In the center of the park four poles were set at the corners ofa 100-ft. square surrounding the electric fountain ; these poles were45 ft. above the surface of the ground.
