THE BEAR-PITS—ZOOLOGICAL GARDEN. are already well stocked, and are constantly receiving fresh accessions.The Garden was first opened to the public in July, 1874, and hasalready become one of the most popular features of the Park. Theprice of admission is 25 cents for adults, and 10 cents for children. Visitors reach the Garden by the cars of the Girard Avenue line,which run near the entrance, and with which the various lines runningnorth and south connect by exchange tickets; price, nine cents. Thesteamers on the Schuylkill River also land passengers near the entranceto the Garden. 11
