| Description |
English: The site of the R.A. Coastal Gunnery School seen from the Marine Drive This school which in peacetime was situated at Shoeburyness, Essex, was evacuated to Llandudno in September 1940 where it was considered to be less likely to attract the attention of Goering's Luftwaffe. At its peak, the Llandudno school had 700 staff and pupils. At the end of the war the Gunnery School moved back to Shoeburyness.
