[edit]DescriptionThe single remaining exception?.jpg |
English: There's now only one pile of rubbish dumping in our borough.
It's our memorial to a dimly remembered past era when every street had such piles. Installed outside 1 St Loy's Road N17 - one of the traditional time-honoured locations - this sculpture has been specially commissioned from the 92 year-old Bagsy, Tottenham's world famous sacchetti artist. Curated by Aslan + Jadis + Associates, and working under Bagsy's direction, a team of zero-hours apprentice interns have carefully assembled the pile over several months. It uses only locally sourced, hand-crafted materials and is constructed in the traditional Tottenham style: with alternating layers of dry and seeping bags. Bagsy's work is part of the Art in the Open Festival sponsored by the Tottenham Virtual Cultural Quarter. With outstanding artists from across Haringey publicly exhibiting their work. ______________________________________________ § Important Health & Safety warning: Residents visiting the memorial bags sculpture Please remember to wear your sunglasses at all times. Even a few moments glare from Haringey's spotless pavements could damage your eyesight. |
