Summary

[edit]
Description Petroglyphs visit over, it is time to go out of the Gobustan reserve now. We have walked along the mountain face only looking left towards the caves and the petroglyphs. The path doubles up and returns to the parking lot through relatively flat country at the base of the mountain. So this is the dry semi-arid country around Gobustan. I was amazed to always see the Caspian Sea in the distance. Azerbaijan is called the place of winds, so that and proximity to the Caspian Sea notwithstanding, the baking earth means we are still hot and sweaty, and the wind is no help at all.
