English: The ruins of Penhallam Moated Manor House. Penhallam is now looked after by English Heritage. It is a beautiful spot in a wooded valley. The ruins are of a rare Cornish moated manor house built in the 13th Century. It fell into ruin by the mid 14th Century and lay undiscovered until the 1960s when the land was being cleared for conifer forestry. |
