Could you but stay and watch for a fewdays you would see how the frames are set up ; thecylinders attached ; the boiler lowered into position,fixed, lagged, and connected to the many steam andwater pipes that enter it; the wheels rolled under theframe; the multitudinous rods slipped on to theirpins; the funnel set up; the cab filled with itsfittings; and the whole combination tested beforeit is forwarded to the painting shop to receive itsshining coat of green or blue or chocolate, reUevedwith neat lines, and shown up to advantage by sur-faces of glistening black.
