Description

So it is back to civilization now, once again over the rough, at times torturous unsealed road back to the main highway. The Mercedes Sprinter bus zoomed past us fairly effortlessly and so did a couple of other cars- our driver Bilal was probably being extra careful as it was his own car. The country in places appeared to be made up of ruts, ridges and ravines, made worse by rains washing away more mud when they did arrive. These ravines reminded me of Chambal Valley in India which was at a time a dreaded stretch of country on the route to Delhi as the ravines were home to several armed bandits (called dacoits in Indlish). Our biggest horror was when most fast express trains bound for Delhi used to halt at a station called Morena, which was right in the heart of those ravines! But that's another story.
