Description
English: The railway at Hatton bank (4) Looking west at a train operated by Wrexham & Shropshire Railways as it coasts downhill at Hatton bank. The train is hauled by Class 67 diesel locomotive number 67013.

Wrexham & Shropshire Railways runs a direct service from Wrexham, north Shropshire and the west Midlands to London Marylebone.

The ex-GWR (Great Western Railway) London to Birmingham main line climbs out of the River Avon valley west of Warwick along a five-mile section known as Hatton bank. For much of the five miles, the gradient of 1:110.

The line diverging to the left of the photo is a relief line that also serves as a passing loop. It extends for two miles west to Hatton station where the main line reverts to double track again and the single-track branch to Stratford upon Avon diverges to the south.
