The jacks are arranged ingroups of 100, made up of fivehorizontal rows of 20. Eachgroup is numbered from 1 to100, or from 0 to 99, a numberon the framework of the panelsor on a special strip which canbe attached to the frameworkdenoting the particular hundred.The first group (the bottom left-hand one) is numbered 0, thenext to the right 1, the next 2, andso on to the sixth panel; thenanother row above from left to right, thus building upward.These groups are called the multiple jacks, to distinguishfrom the local jacks arranged along the length of the sectionjust below.
