English: The other Bridge No 49 near Alrewas, Staffordshire. This shows the Trent and Mersey Canal approaching Alrewas, crossed by the modern bridge carrying the A515 bypass round the village. It has been numbered 49 but this bridge https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/136794 also numbered 49 predates it by some 230+ years. Some maps list the new one more correctly as bridge 49A. |
